Ecorkwaste in "Coasting the Earth” Conference
This May Ecorkwaste project has been in the international conference "Coasting the Earth" held in Tallinn (Estonia).
It is a meeting of the Platform Ecosystem Services Project organized by Life Viva Grass and focused on translating the concept of ecosystem services in decision-making practices.
Dr. Jordi Morató, coordinator of the UNESCO Chair of Sustainability, presented Ecorkwaste objectives, as well as the differents developments and activities that have been implemented since the project launching.
The meeting, in which there have been several LIFE projects involved, has served to show a wide variety of restoration techniques and innovative approaches to improve knowledge and understanding of ecosystem services. Participants are able to share answers and solutions that can play a decisive role in overcoming some of the major obstacles to stop the loss of biodiversity across Europe.
The conclusions of the conference will be transmitted to the Department of Natural Capital DG Environment of the European Commission, as well as other relevant policymakers.
