Secondary school students get to know Ecorkwaste project
Ecorkwaste has been one of the leading projects of the Technical Days at IES Terrassa that took place in mid-March.
Ecorkwaste project was presented at the Principal Auditorium of the Terrasssa Institute and about 80 students, mostly of the chemical industry, participated in the event.
The presentation, carried out by Jordi Morató, coordinator of UNESCO Chair of Sustainability of Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-Barcelona Tech and Technical Coordinator of Ecorkwaste project, described the general objectives of the project and showed the main results of the removal in the experimental wetlands of the project and of the energy consumption generated by the gasification pilot plant.
In order to give more information to the students, a visit to the wetland built at the facilities of Codorníu in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia will take place at the beginning of May.
This visit is part of the OpenDays the project celebrates on an annual basis in order to offer first-hand information to different interest groups, both in the professional and educational fields.
